Hey Joe

Almost complete, this piece is examined by James Caan from the Dragons' Den.

In my research on the Jimi Hendrix sculpture, I became aware of the reaction against the Vietnam war in the 1960's, and how this spawned the flower power ideology.

I have used the powerful imagery of war films such as ' Apocalypse Now' with the symbols of the peace movement in order to juxtapose the position of the cultural factions of the era. This is also symbolised in the fragmentation of the work.

The Jimi Hendrix image is both poet and politician rising out of the ashes.
